The 'new' Nevada City Farmers Market is preparing for its 'grand opening' Saturday, June 28th and will continue for 18 consecutive weeks through October 25th from 8am until noon. Featured will be locally grown fresh produce, locally raised meats, fresh breads, honey, nursery stock, flowers, homemade granola and eggs. Kettle Korn and other fresh treats will also be available. The market, located in downtown Nevada City on Union Street, (in front of the new Union Street buildings) will not only host local farmers and merchants, but will open a channel for non-profits as well. Educational demonstrations will take place under the shade trees of Calanan Park along with 'live animal' exhibits. In addition, live music will be featured at the newly opened Robinson Plaza.
